Sustainable business is a core focus area for Business Sweden, both in Sweden and abroad. This approach creates long-term profitability for companies and the overall economy. An important part of a sustainable mindset is the focus on ethical business practices. To support Swedish companies, we offer corruption prevention and closely monitor the respect for human rights in all areas of business.
Business Sweden is committed to the highest standards of professional conduct and has a clear policy in terms of corruption: It is not acceptable, ever. Having signed the UN Global Compact, we have integrated its ten principles in our Code of Conduct, which applies to everybody who works on behalf of Business Sweden. We contribute to developing sustainable solutions worldwide and to building safe, just and stable societies in the markets where we operate.
Speak up!
Our organisation is built on trust and accountability. It is very important for people who represent Business Sweden to speak up in situations that are not in line with our Code of Conduct or policies, or that violate the law. In such cases, action is required. It is part of the responsibility of each representative of Business Sweden to report misconduct. We guarantee there will never be a risk of any form of retaliation.
We also strongly encourage people from outside of our organisation to get in touch with us, if they witness a violation of our Code of Conduct or policies by an employee or partner of Business Sweden. We take these violations very seriously.
How do I speak up?
For Business Sweden employees, we recommend talking to someone you trust and you have a good relationship with. This can be your direct manager, human resources or another manager.
Both external parties and employees of Business Sweden can also use our Whistleblowing Service through the online system WhistleB. It is anonymous and available for everyone through our internal and external website.
Whistleblowing service
Are you the victim of misconduct?
If you work for Business Sweden, we strongly advise you to speak up and report to your direct manager, human resources, or a manager you trust. Reports from employees are always treated with the utmost confidentiality.
If you don’t work for Business Sweden, or if you don't feel comfortable talking to anyone, you are welcome to make a report through our anonymous Whistleblowing Service.
About WhistleB
WhistleB ensures the anonymity of the whistleblower in different ways. This online service is separate from the organisation’s IT environment and does not track IP addresses or other data that could identify a person sending a message. The messages are encrypted and can only be decrypted by designated individuals. WhistleB cannot decrypt and read the messages.
Responsibility throughout the organisation
The CEO, the executive vice president, and each vice president and manager at Business Sweden are responsible for ensuring a good communication and implementation of our policies and Code of Conduct. We ask all our business partners to ensure that all consultants, agents and other third parties who work on behalf of Business Sweden always perform their activities in line with our Code of Conduct.
Business Sweden employees are expected to report on violations of our Code of Conduct, our policies and the law. Not understanding these rules or laws is never a legitimate reason for non-compliance.
